Oulton Park
The Cheshire circuit is a long twisty parkland track which is very fast with blind corners and rises. Being confident with the bike is fundamental to being able to negotiate the technical parts of the circuit and in being able to put together a fast lap time. Working with many suspension changes during the qualifying sessions, Graham could not dial in a setting to give him the confidence required. He qualified in 32nd place with a time no better than achieved a season earlier on the 2006 Suzuki.
In the race, he spent the duration battling with Steve Heneghan also on a Yamaha R1. Around the demanding circuit, it became a battle of fitness being able to hold onto the 170bhp machines over the rises. In the closing stages, Graham held 27th position to take away a steady but unconvincing result.
For the second race of the weekend, the team changed a rear sprocket from a 45 tooth to a 44 tooth. Within three laps, Graham had knocked a whole second and more off of his previous best lap time around the circuit.
